In July 2005, Matt dove into the pool at his apartment complex, not realizing it was only six feet deep. When his head hit the bottom, Matt's 5th cervical vertebrae burst, and he was instantly paralyzed.
Matt worked hard at rehab at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, and today he is experiencing notable recovery in his arms, fingers and even his legs.
SCORE was pleased to assist Matt with a down payment on an accessible van so that he has reliable transportation to resume his university studies.
