Shane Lusk

Injury: Fracture of C-6/7 vertebrae
Cause: Super-cross accident
Place: Bainbridge, GA
Date: September 11, 2004

In September 2004, Shane was coming off a successful summer of super-cross racing in Canada, and seemed destined to follow in the footsteps of his brother Ezra, a noted racer. While practicing at a track in Georgia, he hit a pot-hole on a jump and was launched head-first off his motorcycle. The resulting crash fractured his C6 & 7 vertebrae and severely bruised his spinal cord.

Shane has worked hard in rehabilitation and in continuing to chase his dreams. He has regained some function in his trunk, arms and even legs. Shane is enrolled at college in Tallahassee, FL, and continues to pursue his aspiration of becoming a doctor.

SCORE was pleased to purchase for Shane an elliptical trainer and Bowflex weights to assist with his continuing rehabilitation.
